AEMS ORGANIZATION RECOGNIZES TWELVE
SOUTHWEST AMBULANCE EMPLOYEES FOR EXCELLENCE

(Mesa, Arizona 6/12/07) The Arizona Emergency Medical Systems, Inc. held its awards luncheon June 1 to recognize several Central Arizona EMS professionals with Awards of Excellence, including twelve Southwest Ambulance employees.

The following is a list of Southwest Ambulance award winning employees, and the location their ambulance is based out of. 
• EMT Kenneth Bruggner-- Peoria
• Paramedic Andrew Castellana-- Mesa
• EMT Denise Contreras—Tempe
• EMT Julie Grimm—Tempe
• EMT Samantha Halverson—Apache Junction
• EMT Raymond Jojola-- Mesa
• Paramedic Jeff Lown (deceased)--  Casa Grande
• Paramedic Todd Lyon-- Mesa
• EMT Samantha McClure-- Mesa
• EMT Robert Meyer III-- Peoria
• Paramedic Mike Scherm—Queen Creek
• Paramedic David Stockton—Goodyear

Southwest Ambulance as a company was also recognized with an Award of Excellence, as was the joint response from Glendale Fire Department's Crews from Medic 158 and Engine 157 and the Southwest Ambulance Crew on A-150 B-Shift.

These awards follow a team of Southwest Ambulance employees that won a skills competition hosted by the Arizona Department of Health Services on May 23 during national Emergency Medical Services week.   That team consisted of Paramedic and Local I-60 President Jason Payne, Paramedic Andy Baird, Paramedic Dave Stockton, and EMT Adam Lizardi (each of whom is based out of West Valley locations).
