FIRST AMBULANCE TRANSPORT INTO BANNER GATEWAY AT 8:16 A.M. Gilbert, Ariz. (September 18, 2007) Southwest Ambulance proudly announced it had completed the first transport into Banner Gateway Medical Center's Emergency Department, arriving at 8:16 A.M from a residence in Gilbert.
“Banner Gateway Medical Center is not only a beautiful facility, but a great benefit to the public and our Paramedics, EMTs, and RNs,” said Jeff Sargent, President of Southwest Ambulance. “Our first emergency ambulance transport arrived 16 minutes after the Emergency Department officially opened at 8:00 AM. It’s a clear example that Banner Gateway was needed here in the East Valley, and that it will quickly become a point of community pride in Gilbert.” Before today’s launch, Southwest Ambulance management and crews toured the hospital and reviewed appropriate procedures to ensure speedy and coordinated patient transfers and teamwork between healthcare providers. Further, over the last several days Southwest Ambulance has transported several non-emergent patients out of Banner Mesa and transferring them into Banner Gateway and Banner Desert.
