SOUTHWEST AMBULANCE TO CONTINUE AS EXCLUSIVE 911 AMBULANCE PROVIDER IN MESA

Mesa, Ariz. (Feb. 2, 2007) Southwest Ambulance today announced it has been awarded a three-year contract renewal to continue as the exclusive provider of 911-emergency medical transportation services to the City of Mesa, Arizona.  The award represents the first of two three-year optional renewals under terms of the original agreement.

Mesa is Arizona’s third-largest city and the nation’s 41st largest, with a population of more than 455,000.  Just 15 miles east of Phoenix, Mesa covers 128 square miles. Southwest Ambulance began serving the community an 1990 and today provides approximately 26,000 medical transports annually.

Jeff Sargent, President of Southwest Ambulance, said, “We are very pleased to continue as a longstanding partner to the city’s emergency response system.  We have worked diligently over the years to enhance the strength of our public-private partnership in Mesa and look forward to working together to build on our community presence in the future.”

Sargent continued, “We are proud to locate our regional headquarters in Mesa, and look forward to continuing our strong partnership with the City of Mesa, its Fire Department, and the many community organizations that we’ve come to know so well.”
