SOUTHWEST AMBULANCE TO DONATE
AMBULANCE TO MEXICAN SISTER CITY OF QUEEN CREEK

(Queen Creek, AZ)  On Wednesday, May 16, Southwest Ambulance will donate an ambulance to Queen Creek’s sister city of Jesus Maria, in the state of Aguas Calientes, Mexico.

The 10 AM transfer ceremony will be held at Southwest Ambulance’s Regional Headquarters Campus, 708 West Baseline Road in Mesa. Representatives from Queen Creek, and the Queen Creek Sister Cities Association will join Southwest Ambulance in presenting the keys of the ambulance to the Mayor of Jesus Maria. Both English and Spanish speakers will be in attendance. 

“This ambulance will make a significant impact on the medical care that Jesus Maria residents and visitors receive,” said Terry Reilly, Division General Manager of Southwest Ambulance’s East Valley Operations.  “Southwest Ambulance is pleased to partner with Queen Creek and its Sister Cities Association to make this donation that will help save lives.”

This is the first donation that Southwest Ambulance has made to Jesus Maria, previously Southwest has donated vehicles to other Mexican communities including Rocky Point, Nogales, Aqua Prieta and Guaymas.  Southwest Ambulance has also donated ambulances to Caraz, Peru. 

Jesus Maria is located 537 km northwest of Mexico City, about a 3-hour flight from Arizona.  It has a population of 82,623 people (Census 2005) yet there is only 1 Centro de Salud, with no beds.  The closest hospital with beds is a 25 minute drive away.
