Southwest invited it’s Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to apply for the Academy taught by Paradise Valley Community College faculty and in-house instructors. “The program was designed to help alleviate the shortage of Paramedics in Arizona, while rewarding and retaining our dedicated employees, “ said Jeff Sargent, President of Southwest. “The program allows us to help in the career development and retention of our dedicated employees.” Southwest Ambulance paid all the training expenses for their employees, and paid an hourly wage to the student employees during class hours.
